This little..ficlet I guess you could call it…was inspired by Alex Newell’s tweet..and this is what came of it. Thanks to my loves for the help. :-D
A/N: Once again, a conversation between friends on Twitter (because after last night, that’s what we are…) turns into a one shot…
“So did everyone see Alex’s post?”
Chord Overstreet had asked his friends. Everyone looked around the room, but mostly Darren and Chris. They’d known Mia was at the Breaking Dawn premiere last night. They’d skipped it for that reason. Chris and Darren had gone home after a long night of shooting, They climbed into bed and watched CSI reruns because they chose to avoid drama, not be part of it. Darren shifted uncomfortably in his chair. Chris noticed and squeezed his hand, to keep him calm.
“I’m sorry, but someone needs to tell that boy what he’s getting in to. Mia’s a bully. Do you know she bullied me into going to that Halloween party with her?”
“I figured as much. Someone needs to let the new kids know that when Mia’s here, she’s not to be talked to. Every word she says is taken out of context. Every word. You know she came to visit the other day and tried to get me to take her to Darren’s trailer. It was like she knew that Darren and Chris were too busy hooking up in there, and wanted to be a fucking cockblock. I hate that bitch.”
Mark said. Everyone knew Mark was the captain of the CrissColfer ship, and he’d do anything to protect his boys. He knew that Darren and Chris were different with each other, and that’s what made it beautiful. He saw the love dripping from their eyes, and it was enough to make him want to confront Alex himself. Darren looked at his friend and smiled.
“I think it’s all pretty safe to say that a majority of us in this room dislike Mia. And while I think it’s true that Alex needs to know about what she’s capable of, I don’t think that we should do it here. It’s too public. Why don’t Mark, Chris and I get him to come over to our trailer and we’ll get Alex to come over and talk to him about it.”
Darren said. Chris loved how Darren was always the peacemaker. Chris knew his boyfriend well, and could see how his shoulders slumped. If he could just show the world how happy he was…Darren sighed and turned his head to look into the blue eyes of his lover. No, not just his lover, his best friend. Those eyes had the ability to settle down even the most restless thoughts. And that’s what he’d needed. After a rigorous day of shooting, Darren, Chris and Mark made their way back to the trailer. Chord was bringing Alex by, and Darren had planned out what he was going to say. Chris was there, and it relaxed him. A few minutes later, a knock came on the door, followed by Chord Overstreet and Alex Newell. He’d heard the rumors about Darren and Chris sleeping together, but he didn’t know if they’d been true. He’d just met the woman who introduced herself as ‘Darren’s girlfriend’ last night. He came in and smiled at them.
“Hi guys! You missed a hell of a movie last night.”
“I’m sure it was wonderful, Alex.” Darren said, his voice sounding like ice. Chris squeezed his hand and Alex could tell something was wrong. Darren was the one to take the lead on this whole thing, Chris, Mark and Chord were there strictly for moral support.
“What’s with the attitude, Darren? I met your girlfriend. She’s an amazing woman!”
“That’s what we wanted to talk to you about, Alex. She is most definitely not my girlfriend. What she is however is an opportunist. She’s a sad, pathetic excuse who hasn’t got a clue. And she’s a bully. ”
The paraphrased Disney reference didn’t escape Chris. He knew that it calmed Darren down to go to that place, and he was going to let Darren take any means necessary to calm down. Though, hearing Darren say Mia was an opportunist made him smile.
“She doesn’t seem like it. She couldn’t stop gushing about how perfect you were.”
This time, Mark spoke up, giving Darren time to recover. That was the meanest he’d ever heard Darren. And seeing how wound up Mia made him sometimes, made him realize that he was being stretched too thin.
“Alex, dude. Have you seen the pictures from Halloween? She essentially forced him. We’d invited him here to our party. He couldn’t make it. And where was Christopher? Here. At our party. Alone. And miserable. Dude, we’re not telling you not to hang out with Mia. We’re saying just…”
“No, we’re telling you to not hang out with Mia.”
Chord said. It was no secret about his distaste with Mia. He didn’t like her, she didn’t like him. Alex rolled his eyes and sighed sadly.
“Guys, I think you’re overreacting a little bit. We met at the Breaking Dawn premiere. She was sad her Krispie Treat hadn’t made it. She needed at least one Glee star to interview. So, I got it.”
“I hate when she calls me that. Look, Alex…please just be careful. Once you start in her orbit, you get sucked in. I made that mistake once. I fell for her man, and she’s seething inside. She’ll do anything to keep Darren and I apart. Just…keep your guard up.”
Chris said, leading Darren to the bedroom, leaving Alex something to think about. Everyone else cleared out after that to give the boys some privacy.
